Green Water

Our favorite swimming hole

We had a good ole time here again...until we were all in the water and a huge yacht came by and created a 2+ foot wave. This washed up high on the rock ledge where all of our things were....our towels, shoes and bags were swept in the water. Julie and I cut our feet up as we raced to shore to save the cameras. Nothing like that to get you movin fast! Dan's satellite phone was ruined but all cameras were spared...luckily just before we all jumped in, Lisa had put them in a bag up a bit higher than everything else. We did recover everything.

Hydra's main street. This is the street our villa is on. In the rainy season (lasting only one month...Nov to Dec), the street turns into a river and the higher sides are used as sidewalks.

We ate dinner at a little restaurant that an old couple runs - located across the street from our villa. Dan ran into them on the street in the morning and they said they would cook us up a good Greek meal at 830 pm...said we could have a choice between goat, chicken, seafood or lamb. We chose lamb; they went to town, bought the lamb, roasted it and served it up. A really good dinner! Their restaurant/home is 300 years old!
