After meeting up with Dan at the ship terminal, we took a tour of Athens...
After touring the Acropolis, we met up with Lisa, who had just flown in from Is. Got to tour some of Athens together...
After the tour, we decided to hop a boat from Athens to Hydra Island a day early as there was a strike scheduled for the next day. So we got into Hydra at 1030 pm....found a hotel for the night. Hydra is a fascinating island where no cars or bikes are allowed....only donkeys. It is a very dry island. Hydra means water...it used to be flowing with springs but after an earthquake in the 1800s, they all dried up. They now have to have water shipped in. We are now at our three bedroom villa toward the top of the hill behind the city (only one city on this island).

Looks beautiful! I love how in every pic your smooching on Julie! :) I was wondering how you were doing with all the rioting that is happening in Athens! Glad you're out of it for now!
We heard that the strike by the transportation workers (ferries, trains and buses)was coming so we decided to scoot out of Athens a day early and have had no problems. In fact, no ferries have been able to come here to Hydra, so it seems pretty slow here, which is nice for us;) So glad we did leave early or we would still be in Athens. Have actually been out of touch...haven't heard about riots at all! Maybe they will still be shut down on Saturday so we will be stranded on Hydra. What a bummer that would be....;)
Thanks for the pictures! Looks like you're having an awesome trip!
